Have any of you been arrested for anything?
Melvin says: On one tour, we got pulled over because our roadie was driving like a maniac, which seemed normal to us, but the New York state troopers didn't like it, so they searched the van and found a police-style billy club and since the van belonged to Fat Mike, he spent the night in jail. Then there was the time we got pulled over at some checkpoint in the middle of Wyoming. They said that they were checking our lights for "Highway Safety." There was a drug dog and it started barking at the can. I pulled my bag of sticky skunk bud out of my backpack and tried to swallow it, but I missed a little nugget and they found it. They wanted to arrest me, but the DEA agent in charge, probably looking for a much bigger charge, let me post bail there on the spot and let us get to our show in Colorado Springs.
Smelly says: Ya, we have all done our time in the big house. That's where me and Hefe met. We were both in Juvie and we got in a fight. The counselor thought it would be a good idea to have us work through our problems in the laundry room together. So after a couple months of checking out people's dirty ass underwear we became very close friends.
Hefe says: Yea, I've been arrested for crystal meth and possession of counterfeit money. That was before I met NOFX.

What trumpet do you use, and what's your dream horn? (Details out the ass and around the corner.)
I play a Gettsen Horn with a Gardenelli 7m mouth piece. That's 7 top and m bottom. You can buy the mouth piece only in New York, New York. The top half of the mouth piece screws off so you can change the depth by screwing in on another size mouth piece. If you find your valves sticking, try shoving them straight up your ass while having an oily discharge.

Have you heard the NOFX bootleg disc's Back In the Garage, Together on the Road, and Drunk in Public? What's the story behind those and what do you think of them?
Will you always end the show with The Brews and Buggley Eyes.
Ya, We have heard a lot of those bootlegs. I think it sucks when the bootlegers put out really bad quality stuff, but if its good sounding stuff, I dont mind that much. On the one hand they are ripping the band off, but on the other they are putting something out that stokes the kids. Kind of a collector's item. That is just my opinion, I'm not sure about the rest of the band.
Now for the second question, the answer is: I don't know!

Did anything ever become of the hidden track on "So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes?" Did word ever get to Howard Stern, have you ever spoken to him? Is there a story behind that hidden track?
Some kid sent us a copy of the Howard Stern show when he was talking shit about us. We thought it was funny so we put it on the record. We never heard from him.

Who plays lead guitar, Melvin or El Hefe? And who does most of the backing vocals with the really high voice?
I play lead guitar. I do all the backing vocals, the really high one. On Longest Line, White Trash, Punk In Drublic, Heard They Suck Live, Heavy Petting Zoo, and the 7"s. Fat Mike has Spike doing the backup vocals now on all the latest cd's, like So Long. . . and the Decline. Except the slow part in The Decline I wrote and Mike changed the words to his own. I sing that.

What was Erik (the drummer's) cymbal setup for "So Long and Thanks For All the Shoes?" I know he plays Zildians, I'm just wondering what makes and sizes he used. I think the drums among everything else sound excellent. Thank you much.
I use a couple of trash can lids as well as a Volkswagon hood, but don't tell Zildjian, they think I used 14 inch new beat hi-hats, 17 and 19 inch k's and a 20 inch heavy ride.

Fat Mike, what was your favorite tour (year) and who is your favorite band to play with on tour? The Decline KICKS ASS.
My favorite tour was our first one in Japan. We squatted a lot and stayed at weird sex hotels and took a lot of subways to shows. My favorite band to tour with is either Teen Idols or Lagwagon.

Hey Mike, I know you're big on Bad Religion but other than that what are your influences in music. Cuz you guys have a cool style and I was wonderin' where it came from.
I mostly listen to punk rock bands. Here are some of my faves: Lillingtons, Dillinger 4, Jawbreaker, Refused, Descendents, Op Ivy, RKL, DI, Minor Threat, Subhumans, and a bunch of FAT bands whom I can't say cuz I might hurt someone's feelings. I also like Weezer, Foo Fighters, NIN, Madonna, Superdrag, and Supergrass. Kinda weird.
